Phoenix Mercury Announce 2023 Roster
Mercury Release Eight Players, Add Two in First Wave of Roster Moves
Phoenix, AZ – The Phoenix Mercury announced today its 2023 roster following the conclusion of the 2023 WNBA Draft. The Mercury released eight players and added two in its first wave of roster moves.
The following players were released: Ciera Johnson, Megan Gustafson, Jennie Simms, Yvonne Turner, Sophie Cunningham, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, Erica Wheeler, and Kia Nurse.
The Mercury added Breanna Stewart and Stephanie Talbot to the roster.
Stewart, a four-time WNBA champion and two-time WNBA Finals MVP, was acquired in a trade with the Seattle Storm. Talbot, a seven-year WNBA veteran, was signed as a free agent.
The Mercury's roster now stands at 12 players, with six more spots available to fill.
