Germany Issues Statement Condemning Russia's Invasion of Ukraine

Berlin Strongly Denounces Military Action, Calls for Immediate Withdrawal

Chancellor Scholz Vows to Support Ukraine, Impose Sanctions

Berlin - Germany has strongly condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine, calling it a "flagrant violation of international law." In a statement issued on Monday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz unequivocally condemned the Russian military action and demanded an immediate withdrawal of troops.

"This invasion is a blatant attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," said Scholz. "It is a violation of the most fundamental principles of international law and a serious threat to European and global security."

Scholz pledged that Germany would provide its full support to Ukraine and impose severe sanctions on Russia. "We stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and will provide them with the necessary humanitarian, economic, and political support they need," he stated. "We will also impose tough sanctions against Russia to hold it accountable for its actions."

The German government has already announced a series of sanctions, including the freezing of Russian assets, the suspension of trade with the country, and the cancellation of flights between Germany and Russia.

Scholz's statement reflects the widespread condemnation of Russia's invasion by the international community. The United States, the European Union, and other Western powers have all denounced the attack and vowed to impose severe consequences on Russia.

The invasion of Ukraine has sent shockwaves through the world and has raised fears of a wider conflict. Germany's strong statement of condemnation and its commitment to support Ukraine and impose sanctions are a clear indication that the international community will not tolerate Russia's aggression.
