Voyager 1: First Human-Made Object to Reach Interstellar Space

In August 2012, Voyager 1 achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first human-made object to enter interstellar space, where the influence of our solar system's sun diminishes and the forces from outside are stronger.

Voyager 1, launched just shortly after its twin, Voyager 2, embarked on a journey that has taken them to the farthest reaches of human exploration. Both spacecraft have been exploring uncharted territory, where no spacecraft from Earth has ever flown before.

Voyager 2: A Twin Odyssey

While its sibling Voyager 1 made headlines for reaching interstellar space first, Voyager 2 has also embarked on an incredible journey. In 2018, Voyager 2 became the second spacecraft to enter interstellar space, following a slightly longer and more indirect path.
